Did you know that Personal barbecue pits are prohibited in the park. But, all of the picnic areas have built-in fire pits for people to use. The Picnic areas can not be reserved, they are first-come, first-serve. If you are thinking about taking a picnic this weekend, come try out the picnic tables in the park. Did you know that flowers in the sunflower family, like this Mexican hat blossom, are actually a collection of flowers? 🌻 The large petals are actually eat flower that call the attention of pollinators to the blossom. The center is called a disk and it is full of hundreds of tiny flowers called disk flowers. Each one of those flowers will produce a seed if pollinated. #sunflowers #hardbergerpark

Today is National Trails day! We have four main trails in the park: the Oak Loop and Savannah trails on the NW Military Hwy side of the park, and the Water Loop and Geology trails on the Blanco Road side of the park.
