Dog Park Rules

SA Parks and Recreation made a fun video reminder: Dog owners/handlers are responsible for picking up and disposing of all of their animals' waste.

  •  Use of dog parks is at citizens' own risk

  • Dog owners/handlers are responsible for the actions and behavior of their dogs at all times.

  • There is a limit of two dogs per adult in the dog park at any time.

  • All dogs must be leashed when entering and leaving the dog park.

  • All dogs must have current rabies and all other vaccinations required by the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District and should be healthy and free of any diseases.

  • Dogs must wear collars and current license tags in the park.

  • Dogs in heat are prohibited.

  • Dogs under 4 months of age are prohibited.

  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Dog owners/handlers are responsible for picking up and disposing of all of their dogs' waste.

  • Never leave dogs unattended.

  • Dog owners/handlers must be in possession of a leash at all times.

  • Dogs showing any signs of aggression must be leashed and immediately removed from the dog park.

  • No food or drinks are permitted in the dog park. Training treats are allowed.

  • No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or motorized vehicles are allowed in the dog park.

Professional Photography in the park 

To conduct professional photography within the park, please submit a request to the SA Film Commission: https://www.filmsanantonio.com 

Drone photography in Park

Phil Hardberger Park lies within the Class C airspace of the San Antonio International Airport.  As a result, flying drones requires authorization from the FAA and the City of San Antonio.  

  1. FAA’s website: For more information on how to obtain this authorization visit the FAA’s website: https://www.faa.gov/uas/programs_partnerships/data_exchange/  

  2. SA Film Commission: Submit a request to the SA Film Commission to capture footage on COSA property here: https://www.filmsanantonio.com. Specify in your application that this is a drone request.

  3. Be prepared to present your authorization from the FAA and SA Film Commission to park staff when flying your drone at the park.

I hereby consent to and authorize the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, its publishers, licensees and assignees, permission to use and reproduce still photographs and/or film footage taken of me (and/or photos taken of my child/children) in whole or in part, with or without names, for editorial, trade or advertising purposes. I also confirm that I waive all claims arising from such use for any additional compensation, damages, and invasion of privacy.
