Park Status: Open - sunrise to Sunset

Park Notice: Water Access

Friday, January 23 – Sunday, January 25

With freezing temperatures in the forecast, we're taking a few simple steps to protect Park infrastructure.

Water will be turned off at the Blanco Road bathrooms beginning Friday, January 23, and continuing through the weekend. Outdoor drinking fountains on both sides of the Park will also be turned off during this time.

The drinking fountain at the Urban Ecology Center will be turned off after Saturday's program. Restrooms will remain open.

Thanks for planning ahead and helping us care for the Park during colder weather. Stay warm out there.

The Phil Hardberger Park has installed a weather station at the historic Voelcker Homestead as part of a 2024 Kronkoski grant to teach children about citizen science. Weather is one of the oldest fields where we have relied on people reporting on the weather in their area.

If the widget to the right doesn’t load, click on the page below to see the weather station on Ambient Weather.

Turn Around - Don’t Drown!

Bexar County reports the rain meters at low water crossings throughout the county on this website. Phil Hardberger Park has a low water crossing at Old Blanco Road and Voelcker Lane - if flooded the road is closed and the nearest parking will be at the main Blanco Road entrance: 13203 Blanco Road.
