What Is Community Science?
Science is our most reliable system of gaining new knowledge. Community Science is the public involvement in the inquiry and discovery of new scientific knowledge.
This movement is described by terms such as citizen science, participatory research, DIY science, crowdsourcing, and public engagement in scientific research. Community Science is the Conservancy’s preferred term for this public involvement process in scientific research.
A Community Science project can involve one person or millions collaborating toward a common goal.
