Why Your Membership Matters
Not every city has a place like this. Phil Hardberger Park is 330 acres of native habitat and 8 miles of trails, free and open every day in the middle of San Antonio. The Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy is the nonprofit behind it — preserving the Park's natural environment to inspire learning, nurture urban ecology, and build community knowledge of nature.
That work takes support. Conservancy membership is the most direct way to be part of it, and there are some good reasons to join.

Membership in Action
With your membership, you help us:
Provide free nature educational programs for children, families, and lifelong learners
Fund community science projects and hands-on conservation efforts
Maintain and protect park features like the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge, wildlife blinds, trails, and restoration areas
Support a growing inter-agency team, interns, and volunteers who bring the Park to life
Develop inclusive materials and experiences so everyone can connect with nature, regardless of age or ability
Member-Only Experiences
We host member-only experiences you will not find on a regular visit, from Cat Chat conversations about coexisting with wild cats to after-dark hikes under the stars on our Moonlit Meadows nature walks. These opportunities are not open to the public, just to you when you become a Conservancy member.
Educational Workshops
As a Cedar Elm member or above, you receive complimentary passes to Conservancy educational workshops held throughout the year. From nature-based programs to hands-on learning experiences, these workshops give you a deeper look at the Park and the natural world around it.
Brews at the Barn
Every month, you're invited to a morning gathering at the Historic Dairy Barn at the Voelcker Historic Farmstead, for coffee, good conversation, and time with staff and fellow members. As a Mountain Laurel member or above, you're also welcome at a separate afternoon gathering, featuring craft brews and tea.
Private Park Tour
The Park covers 330 acres. Most visitors see a fraction of it. As a Heritage Circle member, you get a private guided golf cart tour with Conservancy leadership, seeing the hidden corners, the restoration work in progress, and the stories behind the land.
