Learn about 5 common butterflies seen in Texas and how you can support their habitat with the plants that are native to Texas and readily available at local nurseries.
In this presentation by Emily Hawthorn, you will learn about the butterfly life cycle and the difference between host and nectar plants. You will also see examples of plants that grow at the Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration Garden and that can grow at your house. Leave with the knowledge and a plant that will bring butterflies to your front porch.
First 10 people will receive a free native butterfly-attracting plant.
The Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration Garden is an outdoor garden and learning space, located near the Urban Ecology Center. It is a project by the Alamo Area Master Naturalists, maintained by a crew of Master Naturalist Volunteers.
