Main House

  • Early twentieth century bungalow, built in 1924.
  • There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, breakfast area, dining room, living room and a screened porch adjacent to the master bedroom.
  • Wood framed on a pier and beam foundation
  • Forward facing gable roof with an attached gable with jerkin head porch supported by square battered columns
  • Other characteristic features of the bungalow style include the knee braces, clapboard siding and exposed rafter tails.


Original, Historic Homestead
  • Circa late 1800’s
  • About three-quarters of the structure's original limestone walls remain.
  • Constructed of dressed limestone laid up in a coursed rubble pattern.
  • Interior roofs feature tall ceilings with a painted beaded board covering and plastered walls.
  • Flooring is wide tongue and groove pine boards.
  • Gable ends of the building are constructed in stone and there is engaged stone chimney.

Dairy Barn
  • Wood framed structure set on top of a raised masonry foundation
  • The western most section served as the milking barn. Cows were brought into the barn from the doors in the gable end of the structure and stationed along the walls facing the windows for milking.
  • Gabled structure has a central roof monitor, exposed rafter tails and 4/4 wooden sash windows
  • Most likely dates to the early twentieth century; however, it could be an older structure that had a complete roof replacement.

Other buildings on the site include the detached garage and a shed. There are two additional structures on the site: the cistern and windmill.
