Middle School Programs
Our Middle School programs, for students 10 to 14 years old, inspire students to learn about and value the natural environment. Topics include earth science, biology and conservation. Because kids learn best by doing, each session begins with a lesson in the Salado outdoor classroom and continues with a relevant hands-on activity.
REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2019 CLASSES is now full
Registration for the next series of classes will open Monday, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m.
Students will define symbiosis, commensalism, mutualism and parasitism. Students will identify animals that live in each type of symbiotic relationship and describe whether symbiotic interactions are cooperative or competitive.
Students will learn the basics of fishing and then go fishing on the Medina River. Catch & release only. Bring your pole if you have it. We have a limited number of bamboo poles available. Worms will be provided.
Biophilic design is a concept used within the building industry to increase occupant connectivity to the natural environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and space and place conditions. Students will discuss how this process is important and can help people.
