Do you love getting your hands dirty? Do you learn best by doing? Do you want to make a difference in Phil Hardberger Park? Join the Weed Warriors as they work beside our park staff to beautify the park. WW's sometimes remove non-native plants, plant native plants, remove trash, and build and repair trails. The group meets every Wednesday plus the first Saturday of most months. It focuses on a different section of the park, depending on what is needed.
Sept. 6th, meet outside of the PHP Urban Ecology Center (8400 NW Military Hwy). Help remove woody species in the 13-acre savanna. Other activities may include weeding invasive species and setting up a solarization project for the removal of Johnson grass.
Gloves, trash bags, tools and insect spray are provided. Volunteers may prefer to bring their own gloves and should bring their own water. Eye protection (sunglasses are fine), bug spray, long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. For more information call (210) 207-3284 or e-mail email@example.com.
