Do you love getting your hands dirty? Do you learn best by doing? Do you want to make a difference in Phil Hardberger Park? Join the Weed Warriors as they work beside our park staff to beautify the park. WW's sometimes remove non-native plants, plant native plants, remove trash, and build and repair trails. The group meets every Wednesday plus the first Saturday of most months. It focuses on a different section of the park, depending on what is needed.
UPDATE- June 14th, park near the basketball courts and meet at the trail to the wetland at the end of the paved road in PHP West (8400 NW Military Hwy). The group will complete several projects in the wetland area: install paved stones, remove invasive grasses, and plant a western Soapberry tree.
Gloves, trash bags, tools and insect spray are provided. Volunteers may prefer to bring their own gloves and are encouraged to bring their own water. It is chigger season! Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. For more information and for directions to the meeting location, call (210) 207-3284 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
