Do you love getting your hands dirty? Do you learn best by doing? Do you want to make a difference in Phil Hardberger Park? Join the Weed Warriors as they work beside our park staff to beautify the park. WW's sometimes remove non-native plants, plant native plants, remove trash, and build and repair trails. The group meets every Wednesday plus the first Saturday of most months. It focuses on a different section of the park, depending on what is needed.
PROJECT UPDATE- May 31st meet at the Salado Creek trailhead parking lot outside of the Voelcker Homestead (1021 Voelcker Lane). The group will complete the rose bed construction and planting in front of the 1930's bungalow, and then remove honey mesquite near the old chicken coup.
Gloves, trash bags, tools and insect spray are provided. Volunteers may prefer to bring their own gloves and are encouraged to bring their own water. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. For more information and for directions to the meeting location, call (210) 207-3284 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
