Dairy Day at the Voelcker Historic Homestead

The land that is now Hardberger Park was once a dairy farm. In celebration of this history, the Southwest Dairy Farmers bring their mobile dairy classroom to the old farm to demonstrate how milk gets from the farm to your table.  Ice cream adds to the fun! The program is at the Historic Homestead at Hardberger Park.

Directions: From Blanco Rd, just north of PHP East, turn on Longfield Rd (by Blanco BBQ).  Turn left at stop sign onto Old Blanco Rd.  Old Blanco Rd dead-ends at Voelcker Lane.  Turn right onto Voelcker Lane and continue until it ends at the Salado Creek Greenway Trailhead parking lot.  Enter the homestead through the pedestrian gate to the left of the white house.

The program is presented by the Alamo Area Texas Master Naturalists, the Sierra Club, the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy and San Antonio Parks & Recreation.  It is free and no registration is required. A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3/ person OR $5/ family is suggested.
