Nature Movies

Nature Movies is sponsored by Headwaters of Incarnate Word.  View the two movies, each about an hour long, in the PHP UEC Gathering Hall. A kid-friendly activity sponsored by the Children in Nature Network is offered in the PHP UEC classroom.

Play Again asks, "What are the consequences of a childhood removed from nature? ... what are we missing when we are behind screens? And how will this impact our children, our society, and eventually, our planet? At a time when children play more behind screens than outside, PLAY AGAIN explores the changing balance between the virtual and natural worlds. Is our connection to nature disappearing down the digital rabbit hole?"

"Everyone should see this film!"  --Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods

"... will children raised without contact with the natural world work to protect it?... demonstrates the essential fact that the risks of raising a generation of children away from nature are much larger - for the young, society and the planet- than those that await them in the great outdoors."  --Sacha Vignieri, Science Magazine.

The Incredible Journey of Butterflies, a NOVA film, "...flies along with the monarchs, visiting the spectacular locations they call home, and meeting the dangers they encounter along the way.  Shot in stunning detail, the Incredible Journey of the Butterflies reveals the monarch as a scientific marvel locked in an inspiring struggle for survival." -- PBS.Com

Presented by San Antonio Parks & Recreation and the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy.  Free and no registration is required. A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3/ person OR $5/ family is suggested.
