Nature Walk: Ethnobotany

Hear a brief introduction to Ethnobotany and view artifacts, before walking the Savanna Loop and Oak Loop trails. Janis Merritt leads the walk. Ms. Merritt draws on her lengthy career focusing on native plants as she identifies plants and explains their use by indigenous peoples and people today. 

Meet in the classroom  of the PHP Urban Ecology Center in the west side of the park (8400 NW Military Hwy).  The program is presented by the Sierra Club, the Alamo Area Texas Master Naturalists, the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy and San Antonio Parks & Recreation.  It is free and no registration is required.  A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3/ person OR $5/ family is suggested.
