Birding by Ear
What's that bird you hear? Learn to identify common urban birds by the sounds they make. Learn the difference between a bird's song and its call, and explore why and when birds use different vocalizations. Memory tricks help you to remember the sounds made by specific birds.
Master Naturalists Greg and Jana Gibbons start the program with an hour-long lesson in the classroom, followed by a 60-minute bird walk in the park. This program is suitable for young adults and older.
Presented by Alamo Area Texas Master Naturalists, the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy, and San Antonio Parks & Recreation. Free and no registration is required. A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3/ person OR $5/ family is suggested.
