Nature Walk: Poetry in Nature
This walk offers a unique experience in nature with Mobi Warren, a highly regarded local poet and teacher. Mobi has led innumerable poetry events combining a deep love for nature and poetic expression. On the walk, she shares her original poems as well as poems of other poets to inspire participants to see and connect with the trail in new and unexpected ways, from the tiniest detail to the whole interconnected web of the natural world.
The Nature Walks are jointly sponsored by the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy, the Alamo Area Master Naturalists, and the Sierra Club. The walks follow the same trails through the park each month, but change the focus of the walk. Walkers learn from experts and see the changing beauty of the natural area through the seasons.
Minors are welcomed when accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Dogs are allowed if leashed and socialized. The trail is flat, with a natural surface. These 1.5 mile walks are slow-paced and suitable for families. Each lasts about two hours, ending back at the PHP UEC around 10:15 a.m.
Walkers are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes, to bring water and sun protection, and to dress appropriately for the weather.
Registration is not required. A donation to the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy of $3 per individual or $5 per family is suggested.
