Nature Walk: Xeric Adaptations by Plants

Mary Irish explains how plants, especially some of those found in Hardberger Park, adapt to very low water conditions to survive and thrive.  Ms. Irish is the author of numerous books and worked for 11 years at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.  She is a member of the Native Plant Society of San Antonio. 

Meet in the patio area of the PHP Urban Ecology Center in the west side of the park (8400 NW Military Hwy).  The program is presented by the Sierra Club, the Alamo Area Texas Master Naturalist, the Native Plant Society of Texas- SA, the Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy and San Antonio Parks & Recreation.  

For this event only call-in registration is required and space is limited to 24 walkers.  To register, call Stan at 210-464-1365.  A donation to the PHP Conservancy of $3/ person OR $5/ family is suggested.
