New Classroom Building is a Model of Sustainability

The construction at the north end of the parking lot on the east side of Phil Hardberger Park is nearing completion as the long-awaited Salado Classroom Building is expected to open to the public in November.

Dairy Day at Voelcker Farm

Date: Sat., Sept. 24
Time: 9–11 a.m.
Location: Voelcker Homestead,
1021 Voelcker Lane (off Blanco Rd. & Longfield)

Bill Woller, an Alamo Area Master Naturalist, was born & raised in northwest Bexar County on a dairy farm.  He will present to us what life on a dairy farm was like and share his childhood memories & experiences growing up in a much more rural San Antonio.  Dale Chumbley, longtime caretaker of the Voelcker Farm, will demonstrate milking a cow & will assist children in feeding calves.  Dale will also share a bit of history of the Voelcker Farm. A kid-friendly activity is included. Presented by Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy & Alamo Area Master Naturalists.
